PTP Track Hound is capable of recording Precision Time Protocol (PTP) traffic and it provides you with a large amount of information, to help you understand the behavior of PTP devices. You can pause and resume the capturing process at any time and you can make other fine tweaks as well, like increasing or decreasing the update rates for message capturing and device detection.

Each panel provides a good amount of details about the listed items. For example, the messages panel shows protocols, domains, message types, source devices and capture interfaces for each message. What's more, you can use these characteristics to filter the messages. You can find even more information about a selected message in the details panel.

Just like the messages, detected devices are listed together with a wealth of information. What's more, all slaves and clocks are attributed to their corresponding masters automatically in a tree structure, which makes it quite easy to see their synchronization hierarchy. Device identification is made easier as well, due to the fact that you can name them, assign addresses and images. You will always know what devices are available and what they do.
